Admin/Mod I Need You ASAP

I have recently begun working on my story Legend of the Master Builders again. It was classified as "abandoned" during my absence, and I would like to know how I can discontinue its abandonment. Officially, I mean. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks! Stygianelectro (talk) 21:44, September 1, 2014 (UTC)

Next steps for this wiki

Hi all,
Somehow I missed that this wiki was part of the Wikimedia fork.  I'm sorry I didn't have a chance to talk to you about it before it happened.  But, what's done is done, and now I want to look to the future.
This wiki will be remaining open, and available for anyone to edit.  Over time, I hope that it will revive and thrive again.
In order to help this wiki revive, it needs to be allowed to follow it's own path without connection to the fork.  That means removing the advertising banner, restoring the main page, and doing anything else that is necessary to make this a working wiki again.  I'll be making some of those changes shortly, and working with any remaining or future community for the rest.
For those that have left, the main thing I ask is that you do nothing to prevent or slow the recovery of this wiki.  That includes:

Please do not post to users' talk pages with messages about the fork. We look on this as spam - just as you would have if someone came here in the past, and started leaving mass messages about their site on talk pages.
Please do not try to delete pages, change fundamental elements of the site or otherwise damage the content. The wiki should be left intact and available for the remaining community to use.
Please do not use the wiki to promote the new fork. This includes templates, notices or URLs on pages other than the announcement.
I don't know whether this wiki will revive or not, but hopefully it can get it's change. And I wish you well for the future, wherever you edit.

Moving the Wiki

Hi, guys. I know it's been a while. This wiki went from a month of almost endless activity to a month of... well, nothing. I've been silently watching this place... Seeing if it will pick itself back up. I'm afraid if I watch it any longer, it will just die before my eyes. So, instead of jumpstarting it for the third time, and after much consideration and discussion, I've been thinking: what is the public opinion of moving the wiki? Brickipedia is doing it, and there's a good chance our partner LMBW will be following suit. We'd be moving it off of Wikia completely, and onto a new (currently developmental) site called Brickimedia.
What can you expect from this move? Well, to start, you'd all need new accounts. We'd be able to transfer your edits and what-not, so that's one less thing to worry about. What would happen to all the pages? They'd all move as well, history and all, so you don't have to worry about losing content. The purpose of this move would be to consolidate and expand outwards. Aligning ourselves with Brickimedia would help with our community, and it'd also mean that the wiki would have way fewer ads. It means greater design control, and the ability to do almost anything with the wiki, including installing new extensions like page ratings, creating a new badge system, and so on and so forth. Just think of something like, your ideas directly influence what appears on the wiki. We'd also not have to comply to Wikia policies. What would happen to this wiki? Likely, it would stay here, and be starved if everyone moves. Eventually, if everyone moves, it may be closed.
I'd also like to note that if we did move, we'd be merging with our partner, the Ninjago Stories Wiki, to create stories.brickimedia.org. I will set up a very fine distinction between the two different types of stories, and if the differences are clearly defined enough, we may expand to hosting other fanfics, possibly from LEGO Star Wars, Chima, and many other themes. This also would help us grow outward. Please do not be concerned about LU Stories losing their significance. I was an LU player, and they will always mean something special to me; of all the LEGO fanfics, the LU ones are forever and always on the top of the pack.
To close this post, I'd like to make a point about the difference between growing outward and growing upward. We have a very tall wiki. It has few pages with high-quality content, a decent skin, well-defined policies, and a small but established community. Wide wikis would be wikis with many, many pages, but little content, and a large community; think "jack-of-all-trades-but-master-of-none". We are a very specialist wiki, and can afford to grow outward (widen). Due to some of the restrictions of sitting in Wikia's shadow, I believe that our ability to widen is limited. Also, a semi-fresh start just could be the best thing possible for jumpstarting this wiki. For those who have been around this wiki from the start, think glory days again. And if you all are in, I am sure as heck gonna make sure it happens.

Import Spree

Okay, here it comes. We need to get to 200 pages by the new year. I'm inviting everyone available to participate in a wiki-wide edit spree! We will be importing as many stories as possible. We will all hang out in chat, assign "assembly line" type tasks, and import, edit, and perfect pages across the wiki. Armed with the newly promoted bot and our other admin with his recently renewed ability to edit on Wikia, we will strive to reach 200 pages before the new year! Gather our editors, we'll need all the help we can get!

When: Thursday, December 27, at 9:00 AM EST (will probably last a couple of hours)
Why: to reach 200 pages
Who: everyone who wants to help and can spare a few uninterrupted hours
Where: here, on LUSW; meet in chat!
EDIT: Doesn't seem to be working out... I'll reschedule.
EDIT 2: Let's work with this:

Happy Frostivus!

As you all know, the wiki has a new theme for the holidays! Thoughts? Comments?
I'm still not quite certain it has lived up to my envisionments. :P

Welcome to the New Forums!

Forums 1.0 were boring. Forums 2.0 were my own design, and quite inventive if I do say so myself, but they were also incredibly complex and hard to use. Once the table style they used became outdated, I figured it would just be better just to wait for this system. And now, it's finally here! Was it worth the wait? Share what you think about the LEGO Universe Stories Wiki Forums 3.0!
